Thoughts on Fate

I've been thinking about tabletop systems lately because I ended up starting to read the Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-granting Engine book on my phone. I'm planning on doing at least one post specifically focused on Chuubo's, but in response to a discussion on Fish's Google+ I'm going to start talking more generally about my thoughts on tabletop systems, and in part why I'm somewhat down on Fate lately.

I think my unenthusiasm comes from two major areas: aspects getting old and advancement being uninspiring. (Note also that this is mainly based on Dresden Files and pre-Fate Core homebrew, and various milages may vary.)
