Complexity Complex
Sep. 15th, 2004 01:06 amHeh, just walked past the Vannevar Shrubbery Room, which seems to have been recently constructed near the Vannevar Bush Room, complete with a working door. I'm definitely at MIT. ^_^
There was a really cute mouse in my room last night. Unfortunately, that means that there was a mouse in my room. The mouse problem seems to be getting worse in DOOMCom. It's too bad that we can't get a cat because of doors and allergies, and that miniature giant space hamsters don't eat mice...
I just had lunch from a food truck for the first time; it was good and inexpensive for the amount.
I think I'm going to have more to say later, so I'll pause this for now.
*pause*
Yep... suffice it to say, my complexity-magnet skills are working again. I, to my surprise, managed to get a UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program) in the Media Lab that looks really nifty. Unfortunately, I can't get paid by the Media Lab the first semester, I don't know if the UROP Office will pay me, I don't know if there are good jobs I might want to do, I don't know if I can take out more loan instead of work study, and I have until the 17th to get my paperwork in if I want a chance at payment. That's the day after tomorrow, officially, now. I've got a lot of figuring out to do... I hope it works out, though. Of course, this is going to be nonconductive to my 18.02 pset getting done reasonably... I should have worked on it tonight instead of Something Mysterious, but oh well. It's never too early for an all-night tool, eh? All Hail Pass/Fail!
Yeah, I definitely need to call it a night.
