Ideas on the myth v. Shakespeare question, whether or not you're actually interested in my thoughts:
-Shakespeare can be staged verbatim and accepted by audiences. Myths must be translated, at the very least.
-A lot of myths don't survive in a dramatic form, so they'd have to be adapted for the stage.
-People always want to do Shakespeare. He's just crazy-popular.
