Field surgery
Sep. 4th, 2007 06:01 pmiBook power cords are set up to have a point near where it connects to the computer where it undergos a lot of stress, eventually breaking the plastic covering and finally the conductors inside until it either catches on fire do to resistance or stops conducting entirely. I'd had this happen to me before, and I'd paid the exorbitant price to replace it. When it happened again, I decided that I was an electrical engineer, I understood the problem, it was low voltages, and I could fix it.
